Today thought of making some boneless roasted pieces of chicken which is commonly called as chicken tikka ,since I don’t have a tandoor at my home I made it on a low flame on a frying pan and trust me it came out so well.
This dish has mainly originated from Punjab but nowadays it has become a favourite main course meal for all non-veg lovers. The gravy of this dish will be rich, creamy , colourful , spicy and flavourful with roasted pieces of chicken on it.
My twist in this gravy wil be some black peppercorn and pudina leaves. 🙂
Chicken Tikka Masala :
Serves 5 to 6 people:
Star Ingredient : Almonda and Cashew Nuts

- 2 teaspoon of red chilli powder
- Sunflower oil 5 to 6 tablespoon

- Salt and turmeric
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 2 teaspoon black peppercorn
- Pudina leaves
Marinate the chicken pieces with ginger garlic paste, curd, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt for 2 to 3 hours.
Put some oil and ghee in a deep bottomed frying pan. After the oil gets heated up, put in onion and ginger , garlic paste. Saute it for 15 min. Then add the cashew and amond paste , start sauting again. After sometime add in the curd and salt. Saute the whole paste till oil oozes out. Keep the prepared mixture aside.
Now fry the marinated chicken pieces in another separate frying pan on medium to low flame , until the chicken gets brown colour.
Now take another frying pan , put some oil in it. After heating the oil , add some ginger julienne, green chillies and sliced onion. Fry till the onions take to brown colour, now add the fried chicken pieces and the previously prepared gravy , if the mixture looks too dry , then mix some warm water into it. Cover it with a lid for 15 mins . Cook till the chicken is done .
Lastly add black pepper powder , pudina leaves and garam masala .
Serve it with rotis , parathas or naan of your choice.
