This creamy Paneer dish is typically a vegetarian main dish accompanied by Naan, Roti or Paratha. It is prepared with fresh methi leaves which has a somewhat bitter in taste but when incorporated in this dish it get’s an additional flavour.
This is a simple dish get’s prepared in 20 minutes and it is absolutely delicious. Some green peas may be added to give it an additional texture.

Fenugreek Leaves or Methi leaves
Main Ingredients :
- 250 gm Paneer (Cottage cheese )
- half a bunch of methi leaves, plucked,washed and chopped.
- 3/4 cup boiled green peas
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup tomato pulp
- 1 cup milk
- 1 packet Amul Fresh cream
- 1/2 cup of smooth paste of (onion, ginger , garlic , 2 green chilli,4 to 5 cashew nuts)
- 2 to 3 teaspoon of Kasuri Methi powder.
Wash the methi leave, rub in salt and leave it for 15 min. Squeeze out the water and discard it.
Heat 2 tbsp of oil and add cumin seeds and some garlic . Add the methi leaves and saute for 5 min on a medium flame . Remove the leaves and keep it aside.
Add 2 tbsp of oil in the same kadhai, add in the chopped onions saute them until they turn translucent. Add the ground paste and saute again for 15 min on a medium flame . Stirring occasionally.
Stir in the tomato pulp and saute it for another 10 min.
Add the green peas, sautéed fenugreek, milk, sugar, salt, fresh cream and approx. 2 tbsp of water and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally. –
Now add in the Paneer into the gravy. Cover it , cook for another 5 min. Add in freshly crushed Kasuri Methi and now your Methi paneer is ready to eat. — 🙂
