Granola bar can be used as a Breakfast item or also as a snack item, it consists of nutritious healthy ingredients like oats, nuts and honey , here I have used wheat bran also to make it more nutritious .
The ingredients are mixed and baked until crisp and golden brown in colour.
It is eaten with fresh milk, smoothies, yoghurt or fresh fruits
It is packed with nutrition , and high in calories , it is good for children’s — when they are growing up and they refuse to have their normal cereal and milk , you can make these granola bars to make breakfast a tid bit interesting .
Star Ingredient :
- 3 cups of Oats
- 1 cup of Wheat bran
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup of almonds
- 2 teaspoon of pistachios
- 2 teaspoon of raisins
- 2 teaspoons of dried blueberries
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 teaspoon of brown sugar
- 2 teaspoon of butter
- 2 tespoon of choco chips ( optional)
Take a large bowl and mix in the oats, wheat bran, shredded coconut and nuts of your choice, mix well , then dry roast them on a medium flame for 5 to 6 min.
Remove them on a large bowl.
Put non-stick frying pan on medium heat , drop butter onto the pan, add sugar and honey and bring the mixture to a boiling point and them let it simmer for a minute or two.
Mix this liquid mixture to the large bowl full of oats and nuts. Mix it well.
Pre heat the oven to 180degree centigrade. Put butter on the sides of a baking dish and line it with a parchment paper. Transfer the mixture and press it firmly on to the baking tray.
Bake it for 25 minutes and then allow it to come back to room temperature then with a sharp knife , cut it into desired shape , here I have given it a rectangular shape , you can cut it in square also —
It can be stored for a week in a refrigerator —
