This is a typical North Indian dish which is equally loved by both adult and kids as well.
Rich source of protein from (kidney beans) and carbohydrate from ( rice ) together makes an wholesome meal —-
- 250 gms of Red kidney beans (Rajma)
- 2 medium sized onion paste
- 5 tsp of ginger garlic paste
- 2 green chillies
- 5tsp of curd
- 2tsp of Red chilli powder
- 5 tbsp of vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Few sprigs of coriander leaves
Soak overnight the kidney beans in a medium sized bowl in sufficient water since it will almost double its size.
Next morning pressure cook it until soft but not mushy. Keep it aside.
Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add in all the paste together , saute it well , now add in the curd, salt ,turmeric powder, red chilli powder , and saute again till oil oozes out .
At this point add in the boiled Rajma together with the leftover water from the pressure cooker (hence we ensure that no nutrients is lost in the process. )
When all the water gets absorbed . Your Rajma is ready to eat with hot steamed rice.
