Caramel Pudding

Caramel Pudding is one of our favourite family pudding —-

With silky caramel over soft layer of creamy custard is an ideal way to end your hectic day schedule — this is an ultimate relaxation —–

You can call it a no-fail recipe — since this is so easy to make that even a teenager can make it —-

Only four ingredients and you are done— πŸ™‚

Main Ingredients:

  • 500 ml of milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 tsp of sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon powder (optional)
  • 1/4 cup of sugar for caramelizing

Method:

Pre-heat the oven at 180 degree centigrade —

Take 1/4 of a cup of sugar on a pan , with 1 tbsp of water and heat the flame on medium heat — stir intermittently till the sugar dissolves and wait until it turns into a golden colour—

Once the caramel is ready — pour it into the mould or individual ramekins — make sure the base of the mould is well coated — allow it set for 15 minutes —

Add 4 eggs in a medium sized bowl , add in the sugar , and vanilla essence — whisk it till it becomes frothy —

Heat milk on the stove ( it should not be very hot ) — add in milk into the egg mixture — be careful to whisk it continously while adding milk to prevent the eggs from getting cooked —

Then pour the prepared egg-milk mixture into the mould —

Prepare a water bath and place the mould onto it and bake it for 30 minutes at 180 degree centigrade or till an inserted toothpick in the centre of the custard comes out clean —

Leave it on counter top for at least half an hour — then refrigerate it for another 5 to 6 hour —

Remove from refrigerator , run a sharp knife around the edges — carefully place a serving plate on top of the mould , turn it upside down and loosen the custard onto the plate

Be ready to dig in 😊

    You can always steam it — , transfer the pudding onto a Tiffin box and put it in a pressure cooker , remove the whistle and cook it for 20 minutes. Put enough water inside the pressure cooker , also put a katori beneath the Tiffin box. Hope it helps and sorry for the late reply 😊
